J.C. Hutchins wants you to play in his sandbox

On November 19, 2007, the entire US and much of the rest of the world suffered a catastrophic and long-lasting power failure. What, you don’t remember that? Well then, you obviously have just stumbled across this and have missed out on the thrill ride that is 7th Son.

The trilogy is over, but author J.C. Hutchins isn’t quite done with the story. He’s asking for your help on a related project: 7th Son: OBSIDIAN. This is to be a mix of short stories and podcast-distributed content (audio, video… stuff) set in his 7th Son universe. Quite a few big-guns from podcasting (like me!) and podcast fiction are contributing stuff, and from what I’ve heard so far, it’s going to be pretty damned cool. I’ll let Hutch tell you himself:

You are invited to be a participant in that November 2007 blackout. I’m opening the gates and empowering you to create content that will appear in the OBSIDIAN podcast and YouTube experience. You can record video of yourself suffering through this mayhem. You can call a voice mail number and leave a panicked message, or a news report from the field. The blackout is real, and it’s happening now.

So between now and April 30th, get to creating people. J.C. has posted lots more details for you on his own website. So get over there and start playing in his sandbox! Which reminds me… I need to put the final touches on my contribution. It’s so going to rock!
